There have been all sorts of rumors going around about the sale of military brass. At one point they were going to sell it to China. I think that after a couple of ammunition manufacturers who had set their entire business up using military brass sued the government it was changed to where now it is up for auction again. I'm not certain if this is correct, only my belief.
