Without electoral college city machines will own elections for US senators and president in addition to city seats in the US house. Prospective candidates, working through law firms, will simply pay the machine, which will distribute funds to the non profits that run the ground organization. While calling it a democracy, it will really be an nanny state plutocracy. All that will be missing will be the 9 dogs.
