    Let's not overreact to this.
Firstly, Governor Perdue has not authority greater than you or me to influence the way our federal government is structured, administered, etc.
Secondly, I believe that she was responding to a question at a Rotary Club meeting. These were apparently off the cuff remarks and were hardly well thought out. I would like to know the question to which she was responding.
Thirdly, elections are the big payout for politicians. Win or lose, they will get lots of money through campaign contributions and donations. There is no way those greedy bastards would support having fewer.

The hype is all about selling newspapers.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that it's only about money. The more power that one has, the more money will find him. And with politicians it's about power.

As it has been said. "Americans will never adopt Socialism outright, but through the steady advances of Liberalism, they will adopt every part of it and wake one day and wonder how it happened."

With Obama's ego (elitest attitude), I wouldn't put something like this past him. He's already made comments that he would like to go around Congress and pass the laws himself. (Oh, wait.............) He is also a very vengeful personality and has no respect for us or the military or our country. I think he would like the title: "Dictator Obama".

Absent something like a nation-wide disaster or an actual terrorist insurrection (not a small-scale manufactured one) I don't see DoD violating their oath to "Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States." US Military philosophy is grounded in the principle of "civilian control" of the military, but the act of attempting to cancel nationwide elections in order to retain political power would rightly be seen by the military establishment as an attempt to overthrow Constitutional government, and any orders issued to enforce such cancellation would be textbook examples of "unlawful orders" which every servicemember is told to resist.

I think the puppet master will keep giving us the illusion that we can still have a say in what goes on here. That would plainly just freak peeps out to much and inspire another 1776. Would love to see us get fired up though.

I'm sorry but this is a silly thread. Even during a civil war elections were held. I don't like Obama or his regime for many reasons but seriously, this kind of conspiracy crap is least among them.

I think the difference between the philosophies held by both sides during the Civil War had much more in common with each other than the current Administration's philosophy of government - which is socialist at best and communist at worst. I have no doubt that if they thought they could get away with cancelling general elections to avoid the apparently massive defeat that looks like it's coming to them, they would do it. I just don't think they can see themselves getting away with it.

I still think they want the confrontation in order to force Martial Law. (Complete takeover of the U.S. and the total elimination of our rights and the Constitution.)
