I keep a second job for fun funds. Wife doesn't work. 130% of my primary salary goes to joint account so a fair amount of overtime gets there. But I have a second job that is unstable, sometimes 40 hours, sometimes zero. That, plus any excessive overtime is what I have for toys, vacations, and other frivolous expenses.

Dont ever have to worry about it. If I want something, I have to put in some extra time. If wife wants something, she's got a 30% cushion for my overtime. I typically work 65-70 hours a week, sometimes up to 90+. I refuse salaried positions to preserve the mandatory time n a half.

See, I have the same agreement with my wife, and on several occasions it has worked in my favor. As far As ammo and such, we call those discretionary, as I don't count her Ulta, Saphora, Ipsy or Birch Box purchases.

I get a yearly bonus at work, so I made a deal with my wife.

she gets the tax check and I get the bonus. No questions

some years she has come out better and others I have done better
