Walmart always wants low price and sometimes manufacturers just can't sustain that low price. I don't fault either of them. Their ammo will still be available at your LGS or online. So if you like it you will still be able to get it, it'll just cost you what it's worth.

According to that Facebook page, we can buy directly from them for the bargain basement price of $0.48-0.50/round. Ummm...no. No thankyou.

Won't miss it at all. I avoid the Wal-Mart gun counter anyway. At my store there is never anyone there and you need a telescope to read the boxes anyway.

You could buy 308 for 9.99 a box and that is a deal, but that ammo is filthy! I tried a box of 9mm and it was like someone dumped cat litter in my gun and put it back together... I tried a couple 308 and they seemed to be similar. I wouldn't shoot it anyhow! And 48cents a round is nuts! You could buy some nice ammo for that!

Those prices are for SS109 and include shipping... on a smaller lot like that, shipping isn't cheap. IMHO, they aren't exactly out of line; but you could save money by buying a larger lot (shipping cost will be more economical on a per-round basis).

ZQI, at my local Walmart, was always way more expensive than comparable brands (particularly the Federal XM855), so I never bought any.

Now they are making their prices even higher. Uhm, good luck with that, I guess.

Hmmm....yeah, I didn't catch that. As I do mostly "plinking", I'm looking for lowest $/rnd. My needs don't require SS109 so, still my answer is thanks but no thanks.

Wallyworld is there exclusive distributor in the US....at least currently. Maybe it's available online, but don't look for it at your LGS.....you won't find it there or anywhere else.
Once they're done with Walmart the exclusivity will disappear and their ammo will be in stores. Contracts don't last forever.

Yeah I think recent panic got them thinking they could get more for their ammo. Fifty cents a round isnt cheap for 62grn 5.56. I could get a case of federal right now from PSA for $450 shipped. Hmmm, Turkish or federal? Tough choice lol. I bought some federal 62grn for 38 cpr delivered in February.
