Sure as long as you have choke tubes or extra barrels.

yeah. "we" strongly encourage people to start shooting what they already have before going out and buying a dedicated trap gun. I shot a ruger red label with an 18" barrel before I got my BT-99 with a 34 inch barrel.

Everyone I know will recommend using a full choke on a field gun until you get used to shooting trap.

Trap is going away and they are usually choked full. Skeet is across in front of you and those are usually more open than IC even.

never used a poly choke, nor have I seen one used. I would just make it as small as you can and go from there.
