when the ex and I split we did what the girls wanted. If they didn't want to go to his place, they didn't. if they wanted to go extra, they did. Etc.

I really do not care for parents who make it rougher on the kids than need be

exactly. I don't have to be married to him, but I have to be able to get along with him for them. I'm tied to him for the rest of my life, like it or not. But we do get along and I know I am fortunate.

part of it yeah. need to get decorations made and final decisions on a few things. It's more to see the baby and just get away. had an issue with the dresses, the bridesmaids are wearing one color and the maid of honor a different color. maid of honor ordered her dress in time and it is here. bridesmaids did not and some may not make it for the wedding. so colors have changed and that meant changing colors on the guys tux's etc. what a nightmare.
