I try to keep a running inventory on my stuff. Everything now has a place but things do not always return to their place. I could not find the holster for my Nite carry TRP with stream lite. Looked everywhere but no joy. Found it today in with some other stuff.....

That's generally what I do, like you said things don't always get put back. I have a good idea what I have, however I have some stashed off site that I haven't looked at for over a year.
When you start acquiring "Stuff" and parts and Boolites and more stuff and throw in some parts then it gets really hard to keep track.
That's a great thing about being in Indiana by myself, no one touches my goodies but me!!!, , I guess that would also fall under the bad thing about being in indiana by myself also!! Sometimes. Either it will be really slow or really busy. Last night was pretty dead for a Saturday. Apparently Friday was slow too. I kind of hope tonight is as well, but I have to wonder if it's all going to hit tonight
AAAhhhhhh....even again........
last time I used it was to mount the scope on the .308.The race might make for a slow night!
