    I remember those CM.

We had an International Scout. It was decent in 4wh drive, but the drifts on our road during the blizzard were impassable. When the county finally opened us up, it was with an earthmover front end loader.

I lived in Connersville at that time. I could get anywhere I needed to go until the cornfields. It was so deep from the wind that it took a front loader to get the roads cleared.
There was a little sub-division about 3 miles out to the west and they were without power. CB radios were the only way they could call for help. Every 4WD truck in town filled up and followed 2 front loaders out through the drifts to get food/fuel/medical to those folks. There was a long stretch I could not see over the sides of the path they cleared. You can see how tall my truck was.

    Crazy times.

That's exactly what our road was like. We had nothing to eat but Grilled Cheese and Hotdogs from the freezer for several days, to this day I can't hardly eat a hot dog.

I had a six month old brother when it happened. After 5 or 6 days we ran out of diapers, myself and my cousin rode our horses up to the RR tracks and rode the tracks to a small grocery 3 miles away to get diapers, milk and junk food. Froze our asses off. People forget that it wasn't only the snow, it got cold as hell that winter too.

    That's a good story CM.

When we got to those folks (maybe 60 homes) they were elated. We brought some of them back to town and some were sick from the cold. They had been with out power for over 3 days.
To this day I have kept supply's/genny's and gear for such emergency's

Hey Sam.....I am frying up some Hotdogs tonight........:)

The wind was brutal. I had a great heater in the truck and it was still cold in it.
