    On a lighter note, JD, I'm looking at a few safety razors, wanted your thoughts.

    Parker 82R Heavyweight Butterfly Safety Razor

    I would avoid the Parker considering that they are made in India. If it was me, I'd buy a vintage Gillette Slim or Gillette Fatboy off of Ebay. Both have adjustable blade angles, which I think is great for beginners. You can start off shaving with a mild razor to avoid nicks and cuts. When you get comfortable with using a DE razor, just turn up the dial and you a have an aggressive blade angle that gives a close shave. Both razors can be purchased for under $30 each.
