Part of the reason to go camping in September is that it's not supposed to be that hot anymore.

Wife & I love to hike, but when we are done I want home or hotel to have a shower and AC.

i never got into the tent thing -- to many time i had to guide bear hunters on over night hunts ,in the winter time . Snow and tent
I prefer a cabin with gas lights ,gas hot water, water ran though a pipe of the side of the mountain spring and a wood stove --screened in porch
