    have to find a machine shop to thread the barrel

    You'll want one that can "time" the threads for the brake you get. Most brakes will need threaded too. I'd honestly take this one to a real gunsmith so they can get it positioned the correct way.

    Yes, but with continued recoil of a gun they are going to move if its just clamped. Maybe not at first, but eventually it will. I'm assuming you're talking the .30-06. I'd get one threaded so I knew it wasn't going to move.

    So, when I got mine installed. The gunsmith charged me $75. The brake cost me $80. He threaded both the brake and the barrel, threads were timed so it was in the correct orientation and he even put a finish on the brake to match the barrel.
