I was a lil up set to say the least . He knows i only have Saturday to work on the bike . I dont mind helping out and i'm making no money , so at least have a lift open for a couple hours . Not like i go over there and work on my bike and leave him hanging !

Yup, that would be good. It wouldn't be as bad even if you knew ahead you were going to go help out instead of thinking about working on it and not having the time.
