We don't buy ours pigges, they are born at the farrowing facilities.

so you don't buy them for the farrowers (not sure if that's a word), so are you just under contract to raise them. I am now so confused...(I know it doesn't take much)

My cousin who just graduated from the Purdue Vet school spends her work days delivering (farrowing) baby pigs. and other tasks till they are weened. Don't know all the details.

Never heard of a vet doing farrowing duty.

The group that we are in is all inclusive. The pigs are born at one of the farrowing facility, weaned to one of the nursery facility and the finished at one of the finishing facilities. Mew happen to be one of the finishing facilities.

she just graduated this past year...I don't fully know what her job duties are I just know she says she spends all day in the farrowing barns working on new born piggies and the sows.
