I got 2 of them at the hardware store just last night.

It's what a journalist explained on national television.

They showed a guy buying a AR15 in a gun store and said anyone could buy a full auto assault rifle like that.
The way they said it sounded like it was an over the counter kind of sale without background check or even ID check.
They also said in most states you just have to be at least 11 years old to own a gun. Not sure where they got this one.
They showed a mom buying a gun for her young kid of course, like she's gonna carry it or use it without her parents being here.

They are just as ignorant when it comes to the French gun laws and they often talk about "carry permit" when they mean "licence to own a gun".
Or also my favorite the "9mm handgun chambered in 45" ... very popular in Europe.
