I also read in the winchester info ,you were only suppose to shoot what it said on the side of the barrel --..22 short shot .22 short ,so on and so forth . so that rifle said .22 LONG RIFLE , but the box of ammo he has pictured is .22 Long

Why would they put an 08 patent dates on a rifle built in 06???

Wonder if the list of manufacturing dates is wrong???

Example, my Winchester 1890 serial number was built in 1906 according to Winchester published dates, but has a 1908 Patent date on the barrel.
