    Per the ATF:
    A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.

    Zoe hasn't even looked at the tree. she is more interested in the box I store it in

    I should put that away and see what she does with the tree

    get the rest of my stuff out that doesn't go on the tree.. this is going to be a busy day

    So whether its legal or not, almost NOBODY does that. Seems like most people err on the side of caution and go through an FFL.
    this, people feel safer going FFL then possibly breaking the law
    Which is why the OP said they didn't want to, I'm sure. I was just asking what the :facepalm: was for.
    maybe he wasn't aware that you could ship to a non FFL in state, thus he :facepalm: :dunno:
