One of them is at school 2 hours away (Senior at Anderson U) and the other currently lives with her mom part time. That's the best way to contact them.

iPhone is nice. I have a G'zOne Commando and I like it. Not super fast but it is rugged and can survive me.

That's what I am looking for, something that can be dropped from time to time. Company is about to issue IPads, so I don't want to spend money on a super-smart phone like an IPhone. I will just use it for personal phone calls & texting.

That's what I am looking for, something that can be dropped from time to time. Company is about to issue IPads, so I don't want to spend money on a super-smart phone like an IPhone. I will just use it for personal phone calls & texting.

You need to get what we call a MTT in French (all terrain mobile phone).
It's waterproof and even floats, shockproof and all.
