A friend of mine tried to kill himself.Now he's staying at my place in Indy with my girlfriend keeping an eye on him.

I have been there done that. Had a friend that tried to kill herself. I knew something was wrong when she didn't answer the phone. So I went to her house(next door at the time) and walked in and went staight to her room. She laid on the bed with a towel on her neck. I called her mom and they took her to the hospital.
