SNS - You ever figure out if it was your driveshaft making that noise and vibration? That sounds EXACTLY what my older bronco was doing and it was the CV joint at the top of the driveshaft.

It was a F'ed universal joint, its split in half and almost ripped out of the drive shaft.

U-Joints are usually somewhat cheap. Did it damage anything else?
