This might turn out to be one of those "I guess you had to be there" moments, but I'm gonna try to tell this story anyway.

I was working on a copier this afternoon and had parts of the machine spread out on a table. A woman walks in the room, looks at the gutted machine, looks at the parts on the table, then looks at me. The discussion went something like this:

Woman: Can I make a copy?

Me: Sorry, the machine will be down the rest of the day.

Woman: Oh,...So how long is it gonna take?

Me: Uh, the machine will be down the rest of the day.

Woman: (Looking confused) So when should I come back? I need to copy this.

Me: That would be tomorrow, the machine will be down the rest of the day.

Woman: (Now getting agitated) So I can't make copies today at all?

Me: (While making ridiculously fake "sign language" motions with my hands) ...THE......MACHINE.....WILL...BE....DOWN...THE....REST....OF....THE...DAY!

Woman: (Condescending tone) I just asked a simple question! (Then storms out of the room)

FTR, I was not being a smartass to a customer. This woman and I both have the same employer. So I was being a smartass to a coworker. :D

    This concludes today's story.
