¿you need to climb under it and see what scary stuff lives there.Look at the brake lines, fuel lines, fuel tank, floorboards.
Brake lines were replaced 4 years ago with that coated line stuff. Frame is really good for as old as it is. Not sure about the floorboards. Fuel tank is 6 years old. I did a walk around of the truck.

With near 300K on the clock and a 96 it can not be worth a lot.
Transfer case will have issues if it has not been serviced (new chain) front/rear diffs as well. Have they been serviced. I change the fluid in mine yearly.
Radiator/alt/AC comp master cyl. etc so on and so forth. Just know you will be working on it when things just decide it is time to quite. 20 years and 290 K is a butt load regardless.

I would have to see it.
All has been serviced, by him. He is a meticulous dude. New ball joints. He just put a new starter on it.

Well there you go. Might be OK.

With out looking it would be hard to put a price on it.
Yeah. Will see him maybe tomorrow. He said he would take a gun in partial trade. He went through the rear end and said it wasn't in bad shape but he wouldn't pull a boat to Florida with it.

Yes...by the old Round up DB.

He has done a lot of stuff for us. He has worked on my daughter's car at times where she buys the parts and he just charges labor. When I had my Jimmy he did a 4 wheel alignment for less than my son's employer was charging for two wheel.

At least it is a common enough vehicle there are a lot of junk yard parts too. Howard's is our favorite playground. They have a pretty good section of trucks to rob parts off of.
