    No deer to be seen here. It is kind of depressing since I was seeing so many a few weeks ago. Corn is untouched. The lady at the feed store is probably missing me this week since I didn't need to buy any.

    I haven't seen her since her babies were very small. She doesn't come into the yard in the summer so it isn't unusual not to see her for long periods of time. She is very cautious and only comes up closer when she is having a hard time finding food in the winter.

    I'll hopefully get out a few times for yotes, but I'm done deer hunting for the year. I just wiped the 308 down and its heading back to the safe. I can carry something a whole lot lighter for yotes.

    Can you hunt with muzzle loaders now?

    Yes, but they get an extended season in a week. That's usually meat hunting for me as the colder weather makes butchering easier. Rifles like my old Knight Mk/85 are nail drivers with 100 grains of BP and a 300 grain sabot.
