We had the maples trimmed back a few months ago.
They are both near 60 years old. Not sure what life expectancy is on Maples.

Yep, I have 4, about 30' tall that need to come down. I agree about the money. I know a guy who will drop them for beer $. Then I will have a huge mess, and no handgun range. I'll just bite the bullet, and do what you are doing. Let the pros take care of it.

Can be quite long. Had one in my parents back yard that had a trunk that was 5' diameter. Huge tree.
