You are just doing your job. It sounds like they are taking advantage of the "friendship" that they felt they had with you before you became their supervisor. I suppose that former work relationship also allows you to know enough about who does what or doesn't based on what they did when you worked shifts together as peers.

no and I hate being the one who us always asking why stuff isn't done. We've been coddled for so long at not doing stuff and no consequences, everyone hates it now that they aren't getting away with it.

the old boss didn't care if he bonused, he didn't care if he had to explain why things weren't done. Well D and I want to bonus, but more importantly we are tired of having to explain why our staff isn't doing their job.

exactly, plus there are those who still like to "talk" and tell me everything that is going on. I don't take their word for it. I always watch video, then ask the person what happened. I give them a chance to explain themselves. I told D I was going to start doing write ups. talking isn't doing anything, it's time to move to the next level. She agrees, just doesn't want to do it. Neither do I, but the problem staff is on my shift.

Went to Texas Roadhouse, he was a gentleman and opened doors etc. We talked and didn't look at his phone the whole time. He was teasing me like he used to. Was a really good night.
