No. It is natural that when one loses faith in his/her government to protect, that person wants to protect themselves and family.
It's just Americans, or at least a large part of us, never ceded that right to the government in the first place.

You might want to learn to switch it up.

I'm right handed. Right eye dominant. (or at least I was)

But, because I've tried to do a good job when I teach, and I've taught cross eye dominant people before, I can shoot right or left handed, and eyeballed.

It's easier to move a handgun in front of my left eye than it is to use my right eye.
I have to hold a rifle with my left hand to use my left eye, unless I really focus and use my right hand and right eye.

Of course it's much easier to shoot with both eyes open, or even closed.
