No, no, I have free medical for life, remember? ;)

I feel badly for you Birds, I have seen my BIL also get shafted by the VA system......With him it's not only the cost, but for awhile, he was constantly getting appointments cancelled. He had an appt for a tooth issue cancelled 3 times in a row,

    True dat!
I used to want to get everything in before the end of the year if we had met our deductible. Now we meet the deductible every year, pretty early in the year.

I had 2 spinal surgeries already this year and another end of the month, I maxed out my out of pocket a long time ago..

It isn't that big of a deal or that much money. I should be thankful for that.

no, in my opinion it is a big deal

You wrote a blank check to the United States Government, up to and including death.

For the years of service (that blank check) you, and so many others, deserve to be taken care of now.

Nope. It's actually a woman I met on an online cockatiel chat group at least 15 years ago when we had our bird. My mom and I have kept in touch with her all this time, and she and her husband will be passing through on their way from Virginia to Wisconsin, so we will meet them for the first time.

    Thank you again, ma'am.

No thanks needed for how I believe. thanks is for the years you gave.

That is one area that can really get me fired up. Our vets deserve so much more than we are giving. SO many permanently damaged, mentally, physically, etc. We throw them back on to the street, promise all this wonderful health care then let so many suffer because there is not enough to take care of all. yet we send millions to other countries, we offer health care to those who won't work, immigrants and all. How many have needlessly died, suffered etc because of how the VA operates?! (AKA .GOV)
