I was doing the same at day break - hit 1 on my bird feeders dead in the head with 15pumps and a pellet and the dam thing wont die - Ive tried now for about a week - hit him everytime - tough tree rat - going to have to replan a assalt for tomorrow

I use 1 of 2 Gamo's
Older one is 1000FPS iron sites.
New one is 1300 FPS with a Vortex Crossfire II on it. It is deadly.

You could easily pick up a milsurp like the beater, a few parts and have as good or better a shooter.

Im using a older Crossman that usually does the job but this tree rat is the size of a big housecat - might have to upgrade
