I'm not sure it's much safer to meet a stranger in public.

You evaluate people over time.
You just don't meet a stranger and then give them your address/phone #/credit cards etc.

I made a mistake once and had a blind date at my house.
I musta been a catch.
I could NOT get rid of her.
Had to have my friends that set us up talk to her.
I always thought about women meeting crazy guys, I never thought about it the other way.
