He didn't ask your permission first?
i guess I'm old fashioned. I don't even know if people still do that stuff anymore.
I took my (at the time) GF's parents out to dinner and asked their permission to marry their daughter. They said yes. Took her to Hawaii for her birthday and proposed. 10+ years ago

Our's did. They had apparently 'spent some time just looking at rings' prior, so my daughter knew something was up. But he asked permission before formally proposing.

Sounds like the deer are holding your flowers hostage...

They are and I am hoping that if I keep feeding them a little, they will bring their new babies to show me when they start having them. ;)

Morning Mom. While you're picking up breakfast for the deer, pick me up something too, please.

No breakfast food in Hamlet. Tiny town and nothing open on Sunday but church, the police station and the feed store till noon so folks can pick up a Sunday paper.

Well, this was bad timing. I am not supposed to talk. It hurts to talk.

Well, yesterday morning my oldest daughters BF of 3 years proposed. Sooooooo, guess what my wife and daughter are doing. Talk, talk, talk talk and talk some more. Keep asking me questions?? WTF??? How would I know. I have been here with you 2 the whole time. I can't talk to her yet. Just communication via text.

I swear, the wife & daughter seem more excited than the engaged daughter

I think congrats...sounds like you have mixed feelings.

As Dads we will never fully appreciate who our daughters pair up with. Over time we mello. We have to.

Moms sometimes have issues with this as well. I know I am still hoping for change in my daughter's future.

But I still pop in here cause I can't stay away from y'all.

Next time, speak up so we at least know you are ok!

    I'm back!
