    Sometimes go to schools with the American Legion for "flag education".
    We mention certain questions are off limits, that being one.
    And we ask them not to ask other vets.
    The video does a good explanation of why.


    I just read a good article in Reader's Digest (I think it was the February issue) about returning vets and what questions to ask and not to ask. It was mentioned in there as well. It provided some good insight for those who have never served about what it is like to return after being in a combat area. Some of the things, I knew...others I had not really thought about. I know how hard it is for the family that is here to worry about deployed relatives. Every time the news would talk about deaths of any Marines, I would search for any information about where they were from.
