my uncle welded up a steel and concrete mailbox that looks like a regular one at first. Of coarse whe your flying down the road at 30- 40mph (can't go too fast or you'll fly out of the car when you hit it) you can't see your target close until it's too late. I'm sure that mailbox has ruined many a bat and broke afew hands and arms and I know ripes the front ends off some cars and trucks.

One of the neighbors hit our mailbox last year. Didn't even pull it out of the ground. His truck had about $1800 in damage though. I never got to see it as he got it to the shop ASAP and hid it! LOL! He said he fell asleep but I have a feeling there was alcohol involved.

Yeah another benefit of living in the country where cops are few an far between. Not supporting drunk driving, just saying you can easily get away with it there.
