I got sucked up into CB back in the 70's and up to the early 80's.
Had a nice base rig and 2 mobiles that were skip capable.

I've had cb's for years. I wanted more. And Emcomms so I got my ticket.

I sold the base rig and beams when I moved back to indy in 79. Kept the mobiles. Ran the back side of the crystals. Channel 50 mainly. Was clear as a bell. Could talk for miles with out the boost.
When I moved back here the traffic was over whelming. Lost interest.

Looked at Ham but like anything else I like to do it would have been stupid expensive.

It can be. There are guys that have 10s of thousands in their shacks. I have $250-300 now.
