My mom ran a punch press for years. She saw a lot of people loose hands and fingers. She almost lost 4 fingers. Barely saved them.

When I hired in, something like 1 in 10 people were missing something. Finger, toe, part of a foot or ear.
Lose an arm or a leg though, you're probably gone.
A few years ago, the senior systems repairman (a lady) lost her leg. She came back for like half a year or so, cause she wanted to retire with a round number of years (50 or 55). Through force of will, she made them take her. They put her somewhere behind a desk or something.

    wth happened there?

    Hot metal reacts to EVERYTHING.
If you put cold metal in hot metal, it jumps.
If hot metal flows over water, it turns it to steam, the steam launches it like gunpowder.
Metal could hit a gas line (that one happened to me. actaeon almost spent another night at the hospital)

I'm not cut out for that kinda ****

worst I do is drop cases of pepsi on my feet, or pull a muscle lifting said case of pepsi.

Today I had to put handwarmers in my boots. They didn't work.
Tell me you're hiring graphic artists ACT!!!

    Ok.
    We're hiring graphic artists.
Though you may have to work as a craneman, forklift operator, etc.

Friends wife wanted to work there.
She kept getting burned where she worked at Popeye's Chicken. Bad situational awareness with her body.
I told her I thought it'd be a bad idea.

I can totally draw cranes. I've done a lot of layout work for RH Marlin! Consider me your Crane man!!!
As for forklift operators... I guess I could learn how to work a switchboard?

Robby you shoulda seen the look on my face when I f'd up taking the steel temp.

Imagine a metal pipe bout 15 foot long.
    Inside are 4 wires.
You put a cardboard "sleeve" over one end, about 6 foot long.
Cardboard "sleeve" has sensors in it, and a plug connects to one side of the pipe, and slips over half the pole.
Cardboard burns through as you take the temp, about 3-5 seconds.
    Pull the pipe, temperature done.

As you insert it though, steel shoots up about 25 or so feet. Everyone stands behind shields.
When done, the older guy took the sleeve and tossed it ON TOP of the steel.
    No bang. Just started burning.

    Next temp. I'm gonna help.
After it's done, I take the sleeve, and instead of throwing it ON TOP of the steel, I throw it like a harpoon into a whale.
Steel shoots up again, but dear old actaeon isn't standing behind anything.
NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER did that again.

Neighbors just had someone attempt to rob them. They are the drug dealing neighbors.

I called 911, 5 squad cars show up (after everybody in that house GTFO.) People left in the house locked the door and shut off the lights. Cops took off in a hurry (responding to ofc down on 38th.)
