    I didn't know your were having a problem with it. What happened?

    Wife hauled a hutch home from Goodwill last night. Tied the trunk down with strapping. Somehow a small piece of strapping got into the lock and was jamming it just enough it wouldn't release when you hit the switch.

    There is a pass through in the back seat and I put coat hook on a 6' pole and was finally able to hook the emergency release inside the trunk

    Glad you got it solved! Guess you didn't see my suggestion of what to use as a bungy cord. Coulda saved you some trouble!
