I sit in my car before work and surf FB on my phone until it is time to go in. Yes I show up early because I drop the boy at school then head to work.
I back in so I can see the parking lot and keep glancing up every few seconds. Had a friend pulled in and tried to startle me, yep, didn't work for her because I saw her pull in. Pays to be aware of what is going on around you.
