I am worried about my girlfriends best friend. She finally kicked out her abusive husband and is thinking about divorce. But I'm telling you this guy is off his rocker. And she won't listen to me about getting a gun or something. Or even self defense classes. How do I get it through her head that this guy is dangerous?

She will either accept advice or she won't. If she doesn't want help, move along; you've done everything you can.
