Yea, I noticed that the MAF sensors for the explorers are about $40 cheaper and are for the same motors. I just don't know if they are compatible. I'll do some checking around.

BTW, did you know that a mustang front end will fit on an escort? And that if you bore over the 4 banger and have a 5spd tranny you can Keep up with many stock mustangs? :)

My focus as it sits will keep up with most stock 5.0's or earlier 4.6 mustangs. :D

    well, mine wasn't stock and I don't consider a 4 banger a real mustang.

But I do know a lot of the parts are interchangable so its worth looking into.

Nope, stops on dime and give you 9 cents change. But a wheel bearing might not hurt. Thank GOD it's not a newer GM with all those damn sensors and crap.... :):

Congrats on that second badge ETG!

    Thanks, Jim... and Kris.

Yeah, and now I can go take a good look at my U-joint and see if it needs pressed or if it'll be an easy install. :)

Mine need pressed. Saginaw-type injected nylon instead of easy-to-do metal snap rings. They're original, 32 years old, and still are only half-worn. Haha. Worst idea ever, nylon-injected U-joints.

Wait until the driveshaft drops out and knocks 'em loose?

No, seriously, I'd love to know.

I've tried a punch and sledgehammer, and it just laughed at me.

    Live and learn I reckon.
What really sucks is I traded this.

    in on this

and the Z28 was in tip top shape when I got rid of it..we needed a more family friendly car:rolleyes:

I thought about handing in my man card that day as well:n00b:

Just get a propane torch and heat up the sides of the drive shaft or yolk.
That yellow stuff will come out like crazy. Then the cups will come out easy!
