He made a comment to Susan that she and her daughter had the boys for 4 1/2 years that they still couldn't read or know their numbers and that that they had "failed miserably." My mom raised 5 kids that weren't her own and the stepmom to this day is adamant that it never occurred and that mom is a liar.
