My mother asked me why I paid her for the vehicle and the repairs if it was going to make me go broke. I said because now it is mine. Is this the wrong?

More good news, I just filled up because I heard prices might go up. Good news is that I am now making 18 mi/gal. I was only getting 15 mi/gal.
Its assembled for the most part... I just need to figure out what I'm going to do to get the mags to seat. I need to try all the mags and if they're all the same, I'm gonna shave just a tad off the mag block. If I had any play in between my upper and lower I wouldn't have a problem but they fit perfectly with no gaps in between at all.

Sounds like you got parts that are on the extreme ends of the tolerances. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. Just means it all has to be fitted and checked.

Well, the Noveske Upper and Lower fit perfect. And its how I'd want it in an AR build. But the Mag Block and mags have a little play in them. I think modifying my block will be the best case scenario. and the amount of material I need to remove is a very very small amount.
I'd rather it be a tight fit than a loose one though.
