That engine was never meant to be in that car Rusty.
Th 68 GTA fastback I had back in the day (390) was a nightmare to work on.
I popped holes in the fender wells to get to the back spark plugs passenger side.
We did that to the 67 GTA 450 stroker. No way in hell thats happening on this car....That engine was never meant to be in that car Rusty.

If memory serves the stealerships would lift the engine partially out to get to those plugs.
With the leaded gas of the day plugs were a regular maint. item.
Never heard of that on a Mustang, but did on Hemi Cudas.
The Paul Harvey stealership locally would do that. Might have been a way to ramp up the labor on a tune up but they were a performance stealership. Lots and lots of hot Fords rolled into and out of there.
I was somewhat limited on my tools when I had the GTA. An electrician friend had the hole saws and I found some plastic plugs to put into the holes we cut into the fenders. Easy peasy.

Ahhh, Paul Harvey. Goes along with Dave Mason, Chuck Callahan and Bob Catterson
