I was cleaning out my basement where I store some of my shooting gear and came across an empty old, and I mean OLD Blazer 9mm box...

It had a price tag on it...

    $5.00!!

That's enough to bring a tear to your eye.

I've got some .45ACP with 8.99 price tags......makes me want to puke when I look at ammo in the store today. Don't get me started on primers...I bought 4000 today at $38/1000 and felt lucky I was even able to find any...

When I was in college, in Oklahoma, gas was around 25 cents/gal. and for that, they would pump it for you, clean your windshield and offer a piece of tableware for every fill-up. I collected place settings for 12 with all the serving pieces in one year just before getting married. Good quality stuff too. We used it every day for over 20 years.
Sometimes gas stations would get in a price war. then the price would get down to about $.15/gal.
Bought a new Ruger Blackhawk, 45 Colt, 7 1/2" for just underr $100 out the door. Wish I still had that old 3 screw.
That was the late '60s. The good old days.
