We built both in my high school (elective course) electronics class out of old TV, radio and organ parts. That was in '72, back when teachers taught.

Our semester project was to use old parts on hand for something. Several built radios that worked.
I built a Theremin out of cake pans, coils and a few tubes, all from old TVs.
Best teacher I ever had was Mr. Thomas!

Flipped into the DNC show last night a few times.
One jerky wadsop actually said that President Trump told people to inject Clorox into their bodies during the "pandemic!"
    Weren't actually listening, were they?

As funny and stupid as it was, the whole thing was too angering to even witness.

Biden said Trump said drinking bleach could help fight the coronavirus. Trump did not specifically recommend ingesting disinfectants, but he did express interest in exploring whether disinfectants could be applied to the site of a coronavirus infection inside the body, such as the lungs.
    My hero.
    Idea man.
    Big-brained, Trump..
    Come at me bros..

    Sam ting.
    Takes bofe to do eiver!

Our "off the charts" Tesla coil would light up an 8ft flourescent bulb from across the class room, which was about 100ft.
It would also destroy cassette tapes if you had one in your pocket.
Found that out the hard way. Came back the next day to confirm. Yep, the flux was dense and powerful!
Mr. Thomas asked if I had missed something about electricity and magnetism.
    "No sir! Great lesson."
