In this case it is 1.39 ounce bottles filled with flavored sugar water. When we were kids we would drink the junk water out of them then chew the wax for a while. Who know, maybe it has lead in it back in the 1960s. In the late 1970s I saw some shaped like Frankenstein's monster, labeled "Syrup Filled Monsters."

The other thing the list did not have is the little ma-&-pa corner store that had a huge candy counter full of garbage we could eat and ruin our teeth and health with. We would always buy a bunch of that junk. The store was only one block away, so if we got a quarter or fifty cents, off we went.

In my little NJ bedroom community for Newark and NY the mom and pop store resembled the one on the Rifleman.
