Sure if you fail to eat a reasonable diet, but that's true of everything that isn't a celery stick. Bacon is high in sodium, no question, but if you keep most other foods on the lower end of the sodium table you body is quite capable of processing a few heavily-laden food items.

I rode dirtbikes, my friends rode 3-wheelers... I crashed, but only about 10% as much as they did.
They had some spectacular crashes, bent bars, fenders and seat ripped off... It was awesome.
