Used to park with the girlfriend in high school on a Friday or Saturday night at a parking lot near Eagle Creek reservoir and "watch the submarine races."

Well, this is about 3 minutes long, but I think it is funny. Barber getting a kid back for a prank the kid pulled on him. Some PG-13 language. Click to play.

I hate you! I knew what was about to happen, but I could not look away.

That is NOT in the least bit funny.

I have been standing right next to a metal lathe where a similar thing happened. It wasn't pretty.:(

But I still laughed at that pic.

Reminds me of a National Geographic special I watched in the 70s or 80s where a guy was using a bench grinder and the grinding wheel fractures and a big chunk hit him in the face at high speed. I think the story was about reconstructing his face. That was less funny than a guy getting clocked by a big piece of wood at a lower speed.

I have worked in machine shops since the early 90s. All the really bad stuff I've seen happened in lathes.

I've personally exploded many a grinding wheel, but always on surface grinders where the pieces always go to your left. Never thought about a bench grinder wheel letting go.:n00b:
