I kid you not, in High School Phys Ed, we had a 6 week session on swimming. We all had to wear school issues swim suits (this was mid 90's). Guys had brown speedos exactly like the one Arnold has on, and girls had to wear a 1 piece that looked like something out of the 1920's (sort of a 1 piece with shorts if you can picture it).

Lets just say that a bunch of us 14 year olds probably thought we looked pretty much like studs for all the ladies as we strutted around, but guessing we were more like the picture in the right.
