I've done that when I was a kid. But it wasn't on purpose. Walking our 80 lb rot/lab mix and she started after a bunny. Gravel road too. Mom had to break out the Bactine.

Bactine = OMG PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!!! when I was 6 years old. There was nothing worse than mom getting out that bottle to clean a freshly skinned knee or elbow. It think it is funny now when my kids get freaked out by Hydrogen Peroxide!

That and that other stuff that was Mercurochrome or something like that. We had those two or Iodine. Iodine burned like hell.

This is the stuff that made me say words I didn't even know I knew. I peeled a good portion of the palm of my hand off on the ladder of a rusty diving pier at Tippecanoe Baptist Camp.
The nurse scrubbed it with this:
