When my sons were little I used to tell them that they were born as girls and we put them in one of these baby changing stations, closed the door, put in a quarter and that’s how they became boys.

Does that make me a bad dad? :D

Na, but it does kinda remind me of this :)

Just look in the cab of a locomotive and you'll see ....

    You say,:"
And let me point out that one cannot hijack a locomotive into an office building."

...... that the engine will go ANYWHERE you steer it! You:"but in many circumstances relatively inexpensive light commuter rail would ease congestion and ultimately save commuters money." Yah, sure, "inexpensive light commuter rail" is all FREE, paid for by taxes, don't you know that??

[[[Good! Moving freight by rail is cheap, safe, and fast enough. I am all for the continued use of freight locomotives, the cleaner the better. That doesn't support the idea that all other rail applications should be abandoned.]]] Have you ever seen a TripleCrown Train on the move? ONE train with two "drivers" puts FIFTY~SEVENTY-FIVE drivers and rigs off the road and into the towns and cities where the TRAIN delivers the TripleCrown trailers and the goods. It's like a container-ship on TRACKS !! One diesel locomotive can move 100 trailers from Chicago to Cincinatti in 12 hours. Check out TripleCrown.

Triple crown trains max out at 125 cars
And if you think you can get one from Chicago to Cincy in 12 hours your kidding yourself
It's 12 hours from Bellevue to Ft Wayne and another 12 to Chicago or Cincy
They are also famous for delays due to the air brake system working like it was made of Legos
