Last year I picked up two 85B surplus guns. Of course we went whole hog on both with the full Cajun mojo including the 10x bushing and we also added TFX sights. These two, for whatever reason, seemed to come out just a little bit better than our average, If you can even use that term with these, Cajun upgrade. The DA on both guns is under 6# and incredibly smooth. Anyway, I have had several people shoot both of them back to back and there is a difference of opinion (big surprise) as to which one is better.

Now, getting to the actual reason for interrupting the thread, David of CGW sent us (the Wizard and I) two of his new discos with the diamond-like coating. The Wizard put one of them in the Redhead. Last week we tested it and found that according to the gauge it had raised the DA pull weight by something like an eighth of a pound but it was even smoother than it was before. This in comparison to a disco that we have been running in that gun for the better part of a year. So this brand new DLC disco was smoother than one that had easily in excess of 500 rounds through it. That's pretty good stuff.

Below are the Redhead and the Ghost.

Is it the finish on the disco that adds to the function.
The actual point of release/break on a trigger can be measured and noted.
The crisp/smooth action can only be "Felt" and is a big part of the shooting experience when one is sensitive to these things.
I can loose some measured function for "Smooth"......"Crisp"

The gauge said it was heavier. Neither the Wizard or I could tell the difference in terms of pull weight.

Yup. Thats my point. The over all experience is what matters.

I agree. When you get under 6# in DA it's kind of silly to even talk about an eighth or quarter ounce here or there. I will have both with me the next time I see you and will be interested in the opinions of you and others.

Just a quick question. Ifanyone ordered from Harrington Products before. Are they slow on shipping? I ordered on Saturday and still haven't received any word on my order for a CZ 70 enhanced firing pin.
